Chamberlain Hrdlicka Welcomes Two Attorneys to Atlanta Office

Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to announce the addition of Paul M. Budd and Brittany S. Kovalskaya to its Atlanta office. Budd joins as a senior associate and Kovalskaya joins as an associate in the Tax Controversy & Litigation practice group, where they will advise and represent taxpayers before federal, state and local taxing authorities and in all federal and state courts where tax disputes are litigated.

Paul M. Budd

Budd focuses his practice on representing individuals, corporations, partnerships and estates, in all stages of federal tax controversies with the IRS, including audits, examinations, investigations, appeals and litigation in federal courts. Prior to joining the firm, Budd served as associate attorney at a Dallas-based law firm where he provided legal representation for taxpayers and litigate taxpayer claims in federal court, including drafting, filing and arguing petitions, pleadings, motions and briefs in the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court and U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Additionally, he managed discovery and negotiated settlements with IRS counsel and DOJ tax counsel. While in law school, Budd served as managing editor for the Kansas Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, his Master of Laws degree from New York University School of Law, and his Master of Business Administration and law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.

Brittany Kovalskaya

Kovalskaya focuses her practice on advocating for taxpayers in complex tax controversy matters. Prior to joining the firm, her work centered on transactional matters. Kovalskaya served as associate attorney at a Tampa-based law firm where she provided legal representation on a range of transactional matters, drafting legal documents and IRS answers to notices. Additionally, she researched memos on tax Roth IRA requirements, business licenses, business contract obligations, HRSA requirements, personal goodwill as a corporate asset sale and landlord deed requirements. While in law school, Kovalskaya served as the notes and comments editor for the Stetson Law Review and as vice president of the Tax Law Society. She also served as the graduate editor for the Florida Tax Review while in the Masters of Law program at the University of Florida. Kovalskaya earned her undergraduate degree from Stetson University, her Master of Laws degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law.
