In this presentation, we will go beyond the basics of the GST tax and focus on selected, more nuanced issues (and potential traps) that are often misunderstood or overlooked. Among the topics to be discussed are (i) the application of the statute of limitations; (ii) the move up/down rules; (iii) late allocations of GST exemption; (iv) determining the effective date of allocations; and (v) a closer look at the automatic allocation rules.
