Foster Swift Elects Three Shareholders for 2024

LANSING, Mich. –The shareholders of Foster Swift Collins & Smith, P.C. has elected three of its attorneys as shareholders as the firm enters 2024: Michael A. Cassar, Alexander S. Rusek and Hilary J. Stafford. Both Cassar and Stafford have both been with Foster Swift since 2016 when they participated in the firm’s Summer Associate program.

Cassar practices in both the firm’s Lansing and Southfield offices as a member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice group, focusing on representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. He has experience advising clients on various employment law issues and has a growing interest in Name Image & Likness (NIL) Law.

Rusek joined Foster Swift in September 2022 as a member of the General Litigation group. Practicing in the Lansing office, he focuses on complex mass action and class action civil litigation, business law & litigation, criminal law, and appellate law. He has represented established businesses, new businesses, non-profits, professionals, and individuals involved in multi-party, mass action, and class action litigation, including representing a client charged in the Flint Water Crisis and winning dismissal of all charges.

Stafford is a member of the firm's General Litigation practice group in Lansing. Her practice concentrates on defense litigation, including employment discrimination defense, personal injury litigation, third-party no-fault disputes, and insurance defense. She has experience at every phase of a lawsuit, including trying a case in arbitration and arguing in the Michigan Court of Appeals.
